Help support Babson's chapter of Habitat for Humanity
As a college campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, our organization seeks to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Due to the pandemic, the main mission of Habitat is now more important than ever. The health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has placed increased financial pressures on families trying to pay rent and mortgage.
Our organization plans to use this time to connect with our members to hold educational workshops and speaker events to spread awareness of the housing crisis in America. As in person volunteering has opened back up we are looking to continue our week long service immersion trips during our winter and spring breaks. These trips are strictly volunteer based and non-credit. Since students are already giving up their winter and spring break we try to make these trips as affordable as possible. Currently, without funding these immersion trips cost around $2,000 per student.
Through various fundraising efforts and support from student government we can decrease these costs, but they still prove to be a burden to our students.
We would love your support to help make these events and trips as affordable possible.
