Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Make Your Mark.

Why Defend the Dam?

Today marks our 5th annual giving day—Make Your Mark. It’s the one day we ask all of you to come together and show your Babson pride. During a year marked by challenge and uncertainty everywhere, we need your help in Defending the Dam like never before.

‚ÄčThis semester alone we’ve dedicated more than $1.2 million in testing, protective equipment and other COVID-related essentials that will help keep our students and campus safe. In response to overwhelming student need, we’ve granted nearly $500,000 to students from our temporary hardship fund to help with tuition, transportation, books and housing—more than double of a typical year. To enhance hybrid and virtual learning we’ve made a multimillion-dollar investment in technology. And we continue to support and grow essential elements of the Babson experience—our centers and institutes, career development, student life, and experiential learning.

What are Dambassadors?

Dambassadors spread the word about #MakeYourMark and #DefendTheDam on social media!

Babson’s annual day of giving is our most important fundraising event of the year. That’s why we’re asking you—our Dambassadors—to help us by posting on your own social media platforms before and during the campaign on Thursday, September 17.

Be sure to include #MakeYourMark and #DefendtheDam and always tag a few Babson friends!

Not sure what to post? Something personal about what Babson means to you and why you’re Defending the Dam is always a good idea. But we’ve made it easy for you just cut and paste with some sample posts on this webpage. We also have a fun video you can share as well.

After you make a donation you can also share directly from the giving site, and let everyone know how much Babson means to you and why you gave.

And don’t forget to upload the Babson profile pic frame to your social media accounts and download our fun Webex and Zoom backgrounds to use before, during, and even after our annual giving day.

How do I become a Babson Defender?

You can give at the amount you’re most comfortable with, starting at only $5 per month. As a Babson Defender, you’ll also support our sustainability efforts and reduce administrative costs. All new Babson Defenders during Make Your Mark will receive a Babson gaiter (while supplies last). They will also receive complimentary registration for our Babson Connect: Online series.

How do I select multiple gift designations?

To select multiple gift designations, select the "Add another gift to your donation" button, select the additional designation that you'd like to support, then select the amount that you'd like to contribute to the additional designation(s) that you would like to add.
