Help support Babson's chapter of Habitat for Humanity
As a college campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, our organization seeks to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. While the current pandemic has temporarily halted in-person service trips and volunteering events at build sites and restores, the main mission of Habitat is now more important than ever. The health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has placed increased financial pressures on families trying to pay rent and mortgage and the health officials’ recommendations to “shelter in place” becomes a difficult choice for those families who do not have a safe, decent place to call home.
Our organization plans to use this unique time to connect with our members virtually to hold educational workshops and speaker events to spread awareness of the housing crisis in America. One advantage of holding all our events virtually is that we are able to meet and connect with many more people across the globe and we really want to try our best to make our workshops and speaker events interactive and engaging.
We would love your support to help make these events possible. We are focusing on spreading awareness now so that in the future we are more informed and can better help work towards Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
