Many of you knew Ellen from her time as a student in Green Gables, as President of Student Government Association, as an engaged alumna, or from her time working on campus. Ellen was everyone's biggest cheerleader, and loved Babson and all of the amazing friends the College brought into her life.
Ellen was always finding ways to stay connected and give back to current students and the alumni network. Her "off" hours at Babson were often spent volunteering for the College—most notably through the Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program, the Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership, and various reunion committees. Because of her tireless service to the College, she was awarded the Richard Snyder Distinguished Service to the College Award in 2004.
What better way to remember Ellen then by joining together in service, something that was so important to her. The College has named the annual Day of Service activities the Ellen S. Solomita '89 Day of Service.
In order to make this day exist in perpetuity, not just in Boston but around the world, we've increased our fundraising goal to $250,000 in Ellen's memory. Please note: you can make a one time, monthly or annual gift. All donations received through this page will help fund this initiative. If you have already contributed in honor of Ellen, those funds are counted here. Thank you for considering a donation to celebrate Ellen's life and honor her commitment to Babson.
